ALEXANDER SLOTNICK is from Virginia Beach, VA and now lives in Washington, DC. His fiction has previously appeared in the journal, THE LAST MAGAZINE, and The American in Italia. He holds an MFA from the University of Virginia, where he was the winner of the 2014 Balch Prize and the runner-up for the 2015 Henfield Prize. He is finishing work on his first novel. '1,040 MPH' was shortlisted for the 2017 White Review Short Story Prize (US & Canada).
