The Art of the Short Story: RZ Baschir and Leon Craig

Thursday 12 May / 19.00 / Online event / Tickets

Join RZ Baschir, Leon Craig and The White Review editor Rosanna McLaughlin for a discussion on the art of the short story.

Baschir and Craig are both alumnae of The White Review Short Story Prize. Baschir won the prize in 2021 for her modern fable ‘The Chicken’, described by the judges as ‘unforgettably provocative, humorous and dark’. Craig was shortlisted for the prize in 2016 for her story ‘Mute Canticle’, and in 2022 published her debut collection Parallel Hells, thirteen strange and gothic stories.

Following readings, the authors will discuss their work and the particularities and possibilities of the short-story form.

Tickets for the event are available here. Please consider donating to support the work of The White Review and its writers.

A Zoom link will be sent to all attendees on the day of the event.
